Welcome to the Pine class page
Hello everyone! :)
I am excited for all of the exciting learning that we are going to experience this term and I hope that you are all ready for another fabulous few weeks!
This term’s topic will be exploring our learning question
“How do mechanisms make the world easier?” though all of our subjects.
Our class novel study is Cogheart. In RHSE, we will be learning about how to mechanisms such as levers, gears and pulleys. In music, we will be focussing on pitch, while in DT, we we will be exploring how to use cam mechanisms to make a toy.
PE this half term will be gymnastic and fitness; we will be outside on Wednesdays and inside on Fridays, so please ensure children have their indoor PE kit in school each week. This includes black joggers for outside and shorts for inside, white t-shirt and black pumps. Please ensure your kit is named!
We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home and record it in your child’s reading records. I cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads and see the children win prizes!
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our webpage as we will upload photographs regularly to showcase the fabulous learning happening in class and our Stars of the Week.
If you have any questions or need to discuss anything at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch via our class email:
I am very much looking forward to the year ahead! :)
