Our trip to the zoo

We had a fantastic day at the zoo this week despite the rainy weather. We saw gibbons, bonobos, penguins, orangutans, giraffes, giant tortoises, chimpanzees, gorillas and even white rhinos! We learnt about the threats to the gibbons in south east Asia where deforestation is destroying their habitat and some fascinating facts about giraffes tongues which are dark to stop them burning in the hot savannah sun (and which we discovered are the same length as your arm!). The children showed great curiosity and asked some very thoughtful questions turn our expedition around the zoo with our workshop leader. Well done, Lime class, for a super day. #AweandWonder
