What is it like inside a mosque?

In our R.E lessons, we have been learning about different faiths and we have focussed on Islam and what life is like for Muslims. The children have learnt about the different features of a mosque, as well as the different celebrations which occur as part of the religion. Today, we were lucky enough to visit a mosque in Leicester and receive a tour from an Imam. He told us all about the times that Muslims can visit the mosque and what happens when they are praying. All of the children were amazed when they saw the inside and agreed that it was beautiful, especially the dome! They were fantastically well behaved and I was so proud.
