A visit from a Roman Soldier!

This week we met a real Roman Soldier and learned first-hand all about what life was like in the Roman army. We learned the names of his equipment and went on to practice making different battle formations such as the shield wall, the orb and the tortoise. We discovered that discipline was everything and helped to make the army so effective in expanding the Roman empire. What a great day!
