How might we make a bag to carry eggs?

This term Farmer Rae set us a very important task - to design and make a new bag for her to use to collect the eggs as hers had broken. We were eager to get started but had to do some research first.

We looked at different materials to see which ones would be the softest and strongest before exploring different types of bags. This helped us design our own bags. We talked about how we could join the material together and decided that sewing would be the strongest way of doing so. We then practise a running stitch (which we did very well with) before using templates to draw the shape and size of our chosen material.

With a bucket full of perseverance and a LOT of patience, we finally finished sewing our bags!

Come and have a look at our finished products…
