Getting into character
Today in English, we spent the lesson getting into character to help us understand how the geese in our story were feeling. To help us we re-read the story and summarised the main events and made a list of emotions to show how the geese would be feeling. We discussed that although they might be feeling anxious or frustrated on the inside, they were pretending to be happy on the outside. We talked about why this might be and used freeze frames to help us understand.
Using what we had learnt, we then wrote down some questions that we would like to ask the geese to help us find out more. One of our friends then became the Head Goose and agreed to be Hot Seated. He answered our questions very well and we really understood why the geese were actually very unhappy on their island.
