A Windy Day
The children enjoyed a windy walk as a stimulus to our poetry focus this week in English. We heard the poem ‘Wind’ by Shirley Hughes and looked at the wonderful adjectives the used to describe the wind. We included our own adjectives to describe the wind in our work. We also used our experiences of exploring apples with our 5 senses, to write some poetic lines too. The children understand poetry as words that create an image or feeling and are becoming more confident at sharing these with each other. Share some more poems by Shirley Hughes and share the emotions and images these poems create.
