Would you care for a spot of afternoon tea?

Year 4/5 had an excellent first day this term, we explored lots of different activities as an introduction to our new theme for this half term; ‘How switched on were the Victorians?’. We looked into games Victorian children played and even held our own talent show. We learnt about where the Victoria sponge cake gets it name from and how much Queen Victoria enjoyed afternoon tea. It was only right that we ended the day with a tea party of our own. We looked into the recipe for Victoria sponge and worked together to make two delicious cakes which we enjoyed with a nice cup of tea! What a day!
