Elm
Welcome to the Elm Class page!
Welcome back everyone! We really hope that you’ve had a lovely Christmas holiday.
Our Unit 3 focus is ‘awe and wonder’ and our topic question is ‘What is it like to live by the coast?’
Our class novel studies are The Storm Whale and The Green Ship. We will be writing a poem and a persuasive letter.
In Maths, we are focusing on money as well as multiplication and division. We are also recapping our arithmetic skills every week.
In Science, we are looking at habitats and what different animals get from their habitats. We will be going on a minibeast hunt to see what minibeasts we can spot around school.
In RHSE we are thinking about how we can be our best.
PE this half term will be yoga and we will be Wednesdays and Fridays, so please ensure children have their indoor PE kit in school each week. This includes black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps/black trainers. Now we are heading towards the colder months, please make sure your child has a warm, black jumper and black jogging bottoms too as we will be outside weather permitting! Please ensure your kit is named!
We are also doing Forest school on Wednesdays so please make sure your child can bring in clothes ready to get muddy.
We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our webpage as we will upload photographs regularly to showcase the fabulous learning happening in class and our Stars of the Week.
Please refer to our knowledge organise for any homework ideas and please practice weekly spellings sent home.
Please do come and speak to me on the playground in the mornings and at the end of the day if you have any questions but you can also email the office at: office@robertbakewellprimary.com too.
