What is pitch and duration?

In Music, the children have been learning about high and low pitch and the effect it can have on music. We have been learning how high and low pitch noises are made and the technical term for moving from low to high and then high to low pitch - ask us what a glissando is!

We have also been learning about duration, along with the name of several musical notes - crotchet, minim and a semibreve. We used this knowledge alongside instruments, to create a short piece of music. The children showed fantastic listening skills and worked brilliantly in their pairs.
