What is friction?

This week we have been exploring friction and the effect this has on different objects. We wanted to know if friction would affect how far the cars travelled on different surfaces so we investigated. Our measuring skills came into play as we measured how far the car travelled on each surface and used these recordings to decide which surfaces created the most and least friction.
