Welcome to Birch!

This term’s topic is all about Communication and Connections and we will be exploring our learning question
“How can I express myself through making marks?”

Our class novel study is The Magic Paintbrush and we will be exploring this in our English lessons through understanding rhyming and retelling the story in our own way.

In Art, we will be exploring how to draw different types of lines and the use of different mediums in a piece of work. We will be using artists such as Bridget Riley and Zaria Forman as inspiration to create our own pieces!

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!

Our P.E lessons take place on a Thursday. Please ensure your child has a full and named kit in school. Also, please ensure your child has a water bottle in school everyday.
