Welcome to Birch!

Welcome back to you all, we hope you have had a restful week break and are ready for the exciting learning we have in store for you this half-term.

This term’s topic is all about Conflict and Resolution and we will be exploring our learning question
“What materials make a strong castle?”

Our class novel study is The Knight Who Wouldn’t Fight and we will be exploring this in our English lessons through creating a character description of Leo the Knight and also understanding how to create our own information text about castles. Our science lessons will focus on looking at materials, understanding what we mean by ‘material’ and using our working scientifically skills to identify and classify materials based on their properties.

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!

Our P.E lessons take place twice a week on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a full and named kit in school. Also, please ensure your child has a water bottle in school everyday.
