Queen Elizabeth II

Today has been a day of reflection. We have reflected back on the life of our beloved monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. It is a time to pause and think about what her reign has meant to our nation. We discussed how she was a beacon for demonstrating great character muscles during her long reign. The 5Rs at Robert Bakewell of Responsible, Respect, Resilience, Resourceful and Reflective were always demonstrated by our Queen.

The children have created pictures of Her Majesty and written sentences about her. The children are beginning to develop an understanding of the significance this period will have in history, as she was the longest reigning monarch for our country and that they themselves, have lived through an Elizabethan period. We also talked about looking ahead and welcoming a new monarch, King Charles III.
