Steven Brown

As part of our art focus this term the children have been looking at the artist Steven Brown. They have learnt a few facts about his life and where he is from. Then the children went on to look at his unique style and they were encouraged to decide what they like or disliked about his work.

Steven Brown uses a palette knife as well as a paint brush so this week the children have been painting with a palette knife. They all painted a Highland cow (as Steven Brown’s most famous work is off a Highland cow -the McCoo). The children stuck with primary colours and tried to ‘copy’ Steven Brown’s style.

Soon the children will be painting their own choice of animal but in the same style as Steven Brown - I am looking forward to seeing those.
